Our Origins

EMADO's journey began in 2016 when Ann Mopel, having witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by young Maasai girls, resolved to take action. Motivated by her own experiences growing up in a Maasai community and driven by a desire to break the cycle of harmful practices and discrimination, Ann founded EMADO to provide a beacon of hope for girls who often find themselves marginalized and voiceless.

  • Our Mission

At EMADO, our mission is clear: to foster hope and transform lives by providing young Maasai girls with the tools, resources, and support they need to break free from cycles of poverty and dependence. Through education, skills training, and advocacy, we strive to create a future where every girl can dream, thrive, and succeed.

  • Our Approach

EMADO takes a holistic approach to empowerment, addressing the multifaceted challenges faced by young Maasai girls with compassion, innovation, and resilience. Our programs focus on vocational training, education, health care, and community engagement, equipping girls with the skills and confidence to build brighter futures for themselves and their communities.

  • Our Impact

Over the years, EMADO has made significant strides in empowering young Maasai girls and creating positive change in their communities. Through our vocational training programs, we've seen girls launch successful businesses, pursue higher education, and become leaders in their communities. Our advocacy efforts have raised awareness about harmful practices like FGM and early marriage, leading to tangible improvements in girls' safety and well-being.

  • Our Team

At the heart of EMADO is a dedicated team of staff, volunteers, and supporters who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of young Maasai girls. Led by Ann Mopel, our team works tirelessly to implement programs, engage with communities, and advocate for policy change. Together, we're committed to building a more just, equitable, and inclusive world for all.

  • Get Involved

Join us in our mission to empower young Maasai girls and create lasting change in their communities. Whether you're interested in volunteering, donating, or raising awareness, there are many ways to get involved with EMADO. Together, we can make a difference and build a future where every girl can reach her full potential.
